ABOUT US

The Beccles Choral Society is an amateur choir based in the lovely Suffolk market town of Beccles. We are a community choir performing a wide variety of choral music – from oratorio to opera and from folk song to specially commissioned pieces.

Although we like to concentrate on traditional choral works we also sing music from contemporary composers, pieces arranged by our own conductor and/or our rehearsal pianist and fun, novelty pieces, particularly at Christmas.Our usual perform

ance venues are the magnificent St Michael’s Church and the Beccles Public Hall but in recent years we have also sung in Blythburgh Church, Loddon Church, the Marina Theatre in Lowestoft, Snape Maltings and Kentwell Hall in Long Melford. In those venues the choir has performed with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Gala Orchestra, BBC Radio Suffolk and with Aled Jones.

Rehearsals will begin on Tuesday 10th January at 7:30 in the Public Hall in Beccles.
